A better way to organize people.
OSkuad is the missing layer between group chat and real-world coordination, the one always-correct list your crew can actually trust.
Why we built it
People don’t create group chats because they need an event-planning app. They create them because they need to organize people. A football match. A family trip. A book club. A volunteer shift. A birthday. A study group. Collecting money for a gift.
The activity changes. The behaviour doesn’t. Every group eventually asks the same question: who’s in?
And every group answers it the same broken way. Someone asks who’s coming. Someone else copies the names into a fresh message. A third person changes their mind. The list gets copied again, from the wrong version. Three days later nobody knows what’s happening, and one person has quietly been dropped.
Group chats are brilliant at conversation and terrible at coordination. That’s the gap OSkuad fills.
What OSkuad does
Create a group, share one link, and everyone lands on the same living list. One tap to join. The count climbs in real time, and every join pings the crew, because the ping when a friend adds their name is the good part. The copy-pasting is the pain. OSkuad keeps one and removes the other.
The same list runs two shapes of activity, and the engine underneath is identical:
- Getting together, rides, matches, dinners, trips. People answer In, Maybe or Out.
- Getting things done, reading, chipping in, prep, sign-ups. People answer Done, In progress or Not yet.
Green always means good, amber always means in-between, slate always means not yet. Whatever a group calls its states, nobody has to relearn what a colour means.
Four things we won’t compromise on
Simplicity
One link. One place. One source of truth. Nothing to set up, nothing to download, nothing to copy.
Visibility
Everyone sees the same information at the same time. No confusion, no duplicate lists, no endless scrolling.
Participation
OSkuad isn’t about tasks. It’s about people, joining, contributing, showing up.
Momentum
5 joined. 8 confirmed. 12 completed. Participation creates energy, and energy creates momentum.
What OSkuad is not
We’re deliberate about this, because the wrong label sends people looking for the wrong thing:
- Not a messaging app. Your banter stays wherever it already lives. OSkuad sits alongside it and owns the one thing chat is bad at, the list.
- Not a project-management tool. No boards, no assignees, no burndown. Just people and where they stand.
- Not an events-only platform. Half of what groups coordinate isn’t an event at all.
- Not a scoreboard. Participation is logged quietly. We’re building social momentum, not league tables.
Where we’re heading
OSkuad is early. The core loop, groups, events, the live roster, real-time joins and a single gentle nudge, is what we’re getting right first. Templates, recurring plans, richer notifications and a native mobile app follow, guided by what real crews actually ask for rather than what we can imagine.
If your group does something OSkuad doesn’t handle yet, we’d genuinely like to hear about it. Tell us.
Organize anything together.
Stop counting messages. Start coordinating people.
